Left  Sagar at 8:30am
The day was rather uneventful ...reached Satna, (MP) and checked into Bharut Hotel run by Madhya Pradesh Tourism
When I left Bombay, my odometer read 535 KM... till Baroda it was 951KM... when I left Dhadgaon it read1284KM (this included the 42 KM the to and fro journey to Bilgaon... more about Bilgaon later) Till Pathraad it read 1607KM, at Bhopal 1909KM. At Sagar,2113 and today at Satna it reads 2422Km.By the time I reach Allahabad tomorrow I would have crossed 2000 KM in 9 travelling days that is 1/3rd journey done!

As mentioned, I have an interesting story about Bilgaon. Bilgaon is an Adivasi  village, I had gone and stayed there for 4 days to mount an exhibition of photographs from the collection of NBA. This was in Jan 2003 the occasion being the opening of a micro hydel power plant. The village had not received electricity even after 56 years of independence. The villagers helped by engineers, and with funding from an NGO built the power plant on a water fall  of the river Uday by the village ...This provided electricity to Bilgaon and other neighbouring villages... a superb example of self-dependent development ( this was also the spring board for the Bollywood film 'Swadesh'). in 2006 there were torrential rains and due to the dams the water levels rose drastically; washing away houses, crops, cattle- and the micro hydel power plant. According to Surveys conducted by the Govt body (NVDA), Bilgaon  project was not to be affected by submergence... the effects on the tributaries were not taken into consideration.

for details of the Bilgaon micro hydel power plant, please click on following link it has a detailed report prepared by the People's School of Energy(the engineers responsible for the project) : http://studentorgs.utexas.edu/aidaustin/projects/mhp/DPR_Bilgaon_MHP.pdf
